Clavamox (suspension) (Rx)
A combination medication of an aminopenicillin antibiotic and an inhibitor of ß-lactamase used for the treatment of skin and soft tissue infections. This medication is indicated for the treatment of superficial pyoderma caused by Staphylococcal bacteria. The most common side effects of this medication are related to stomach upset and include decreased appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, and lethargy. This antibiotic should be administered twice a day and given with a meal to reduce gastrointestinal side effects. If any unwanted side effects, or changes in behavior or health, are detected, this medication should be discontinued and our veterinarians should be notified.

Safety Information
Clavamox contains amoxicillin, a semisynthetic penicillin, which may cause allergic reactions. In case of an allergic reaction, treat with epinephrine and/or steroids.1
Warnings
The safe use of Clavamox in pregnant or breeding animals has not been determined. This medication is intended for use in dogs and cats only.1
Human Warnings
Individuals with known allergies to penicillin or cephalosporins should avoid exposure to Clavamox.2
