Mirtazapine may be used to treat chemotherapy-induced nausea/vomiting, anorexia associated with renal failure, congestive heart failure, GI disorders, liver disease, neoplasia, stress induced diseases, insomnia, post-pyometra symptoms, and post-op lack of appetite in dogs and cats.

Safety Information
- Mirtazapine should not be given to pets who are allergic to it or who are taking certain medications like monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs).1
- Use caution in pets with kidney or liver disease.
- Regular follow-ups may be needed to adjust dosage based on response.
Warnings
- Only use under veterinary supervision—accidental overdose can be serious.1
- Side effects can be more severe in cats and dose should be adjusted if they occur.
