QSM offers mail-in test kits that will provide you with test results in a few days and much-needed peace of mind. This is the gold standard of care test that should be done to best diagnose and treat a bacterial ear infection (bacterial culture identification). Unfortunately, it is often not recommended by the veterinarian because it would cost you over $200 at many animal hospitals and the results take several days. Having these test results ready during the exam will help the veterinarian diagnose the cause of your dog's symptoms.
We share the test results directly with your veterinarian, so if the test is positive, they will know exactly which targeted antibiotic to prescribe. This is critical for antibiotic stewardship. We know how much your dog's health and well-being mean to you. That's why we are committed to producing the most accurate and convenient products possible.
NOTICE: The test results will be shared with your pet's veterinarian so that they can assess next steps for diagnosing and treating your pet. We will provide cytology results to you and your veterinarian within 1 business day of receiving the swabs and culture ID results 3-4 day after that.
FedEx 2-Day delivery and return shipping are INCLUDED in the price. Each kit can only be used to test ONE ear. The kit includes 2 swabs with culture media tubes for sample storage, instructions, a return label, and sticker for sealing the box for return shipping. The shipping box is reused for return shipping.
