What is Revolution Plus?

Revolution Plus is a monthly topical medication used for treatment and prevention of flea infestation, the prevention of heartworm, and the treatment and prevention of tick infestation, ear mites, roundworms, and intestinal hookworms.

What does Revolution Plus treat?

Revolution protects cats against six parasites:

  • Treats and prevents flea infestations
  • Treats and prevents tick infestations
  • Prevents heartworm disease
  • Treats and controls roundworms, hookworms, and ear mites

How is Revolution Plus given?

Revolution Plus is a liquid that’s applied using the applicator tube down the back along the skin once monthly.

Who is Revolution Plus for?

Cats and kittens of 8 weeks of age and older, weighing 2.8 lbs or more

What is the active ingredient of Revolution Plus?

Selamectin and sarolaner.

What are the possible side effects of Revolution Plus?

Adverse reactions to Revolution Plus are very uncommon however lethargy, hair loss at the application site, and decreased appetite have been reported. If any unwanted side effects or changes in behavior or health are detected, this medication should be discontinued and our veterinarians should be notified.

Safety Information

Do not massage the product into the skin. Do not apply when the coat is wet. Stiff hair, clumping hair, hair discoloration, or a slight powdery residue may be observed at the treatment site. These effects are temporary and do not affect the safety or effectiveness of the product.1

Warnings 

The safe use of Revolution Plus has not been established in kittens less than 8 weeks old or in breeding, pregnant or lactating cats. Reported side effects in clinical trials included lethargy and anorexia. Use with caution in cats with a history of neurologic disorders. Sarolaner, one of the ingredients in Revolution Plus, is a member of the isoxazoline class, which has been associated with adverse reactions such as tremors, ataxia, and seizures. Reactions have occurred in cats with or without a history of neurologic disorders. In humans, Revolution Plus may be irritating to skin and eyes.2

Human Warnings

Avoid contact between the product and fingers. No for human use. Keep this and all drugs out of the reach of children. Do not come into contact with or allow children to contact the application site until 4 hours after application. 1
