Safety Information
Monitor for excessive sedation, weakness, vomiting, diarrhea, or changes in heart rate. Pets with heart disease, severe liver or kidney dysfunction, or low blood pressure should be closely supervised. Never abruptly stop long-term therapy, as rebound hypertension can occur.1
Warnings
Use only under veterinary supervision. Do not use in pregnant or lactating animals unless specifically prescribed. Avoid combining with other sedative or blood pressure medications unless directed.2
Human Warnings
Clonidine can cause severe hypotension, bradycardia, and sedation in humans if ingested accidentally. Keep out of reach of children. In case of accidental ingestion, call a physician or poison control center immediately.3
