What is Credelio?

Credelio is a beef-flavored chewable oral tablet for dogs given monthly for the treatment and prevention of flea infestations and for treatment and control of the American dog tick, black-legged (deer) tick, lone star tick, and brown dog tick in dogs. It begins killing fleas in just 4 hours and lasts all month. One small, tasty beef-flavored tablet is 100% effective against fleas and more than 97% effective against ticks.

What does Credelio treat?

Credelio treats and prevents flea infestations in dogs. It also treats and controls American dog tick, black-legged (deer) tick, lone star tick, and brown dog tick.

How is Credelio given?

Give orally with food or within 30 minutes after feeding every month.

Who is Credelio for?

Dogs and puppies 8 weeks of age and older, weighing 4.4 lbs or more

Lotilaner

What are the possible side effects of Credelio?

The most frequently reported adverse reactions of Credelio are weight loss, elevated blood urea nitrogen, increased urination, and diarrhea. Credelio and the other flea preventions that are in the isoxazoline class should be used in caution with pets with known seizure history or neurologic disorders. If any unwanted side effects or changes in behavior or health are detected, this medication should be discontinued and our veterinarians should be notified. The safe use of Credelio in breeding, pregnant, or lactating dogs has not been evaluated. 

Contains pork, soy, barley, wheat, and lactose. Consult your veterinarian before using if your dog is allergic to any of those ingredients.

Safety Information

Lotilaner is a member of the isoxazoline class. This class has been associated with neurologic adverse reactions including tremors, ataxia, and seizures. Seizures have been reported in dogs receiving this class of drugs, even in dogs without a history of seizures. Use with caution in dogs with a history of seizures or neurologic disorders. The safe use of Credelio® in breeding, pregnant or lactating dogs has not been evaluated. The most frequently reported adverse reactions are weight loss, elevated blood urea nitrogen, polyuria, and diarrhea.1

Warnings 

  • Keep Credelio out of the reach of dogs, cats, and all animals to prevent accidental ingestion or overdose.2

Human Warnings

  • Not for human use. Keep this and all drugs out of the reach of children.2
