What is Temaril-P?

Temaril-P is a prescription medication used to relieve itching and reduce inflammation commonly associated with allergic and atopic dermatitis. It’s also recommended for the treatment of kennel cough (tracheobronchitis), bronchitis, and other infections and coughs. Its synergistic combination of antihistamine and corticosteroid may allow for lower doses of corticosteroids.

  • Pawing at ears

  • Kennel cough (tracheobronchitis)

Trimeprazine with prednisolone

What are the possible side effects of Temaril-P?

Possible side effects include:

  • Drowsiness
  • Muscle tremors, rigidity
  • Restlessness
  • Increased appetite
  • Increased thirst
  • Increased urination
  • Behavioral changes, including restlessness, agitation, or anxiety

If you notice any behavioral changes in your dog after starting the medication, consult your vet as soon as possible.

Safety Information

  • Do not use in animals with tuberculosis, peptic ulcer, and Cushing’s Syndrome. Use with extreme caution in pregnant animals.1

Warnings 

  • Signs of overdose may include abnormal blood cell function, excessive thirst, and excessive urination. If you see any of these symptoms, discontinue use and contact a vet immediately.1
